In this edition of “Mondays with Matt” we discuss the sometimes drastic measures needed to undo a turf mistake.
Matt recalled one of his first jobs that he stepped into where the previous superintendent laid down too much herbicide, killing most of the course’s rough. Because of this mistake, Matt had no choice but to take a plow and turn over the entirety of the course’s rough, three holes at a time.
The important part of dealing with a mistake is communicating with the members and other people within the club to let them know what went wrong and then following up with possible options for how to fix it.
