Both feature updated styling, refined ergonomics, easier servicing and increased reliability. Improvements to the design include convenient handle-mounted throttle and the front handle bar on both models makes them easy to lift into vehicles. The Lawnaire IV also features a folding handle that lowers the height for easy transport by homeowners and other rental customers. Both aerators have an improved drive train that uses a single, heavy-duty chain driving a solid-steel axle with construction-grade ball bearings. Each aerator has a dual weight system that increases ground pressure by more than 25 percent. The weights spring-loaded for easy installation and removal. With the added weight of the filled water drum, coring tines penetrate soil down to 2.75 inches for maximum effectiveness. With its 19-inch aeration width, the Ryan Lawnaire IV can cover up to 28,975 square feet per hour. Designed for bigger jobs and added stability on slopes, the Lawnaire V Plus has an extra wide 26.5-inch aeration path, allowing it to aerate more than 40,400 square feet per hour. Both models offer a choice of engines: 4-horsepower Honda® or 3.5-horsepower engine from Briggs & Stratton®.
